Lawrence, Kan. – Cooler conditions welcomed members of the McPherson College track and field team to Memorial Stadium on Friday and Saturday for the second and third day of the 2010 Kansas Relays. The Bulldogs took a small squad comprised of two individuals and one relay team for the two days.

Despite his lowest jump of the season, senior Antowine Lamb finished 13th in the men’s high jump with a clearance of 1.95-meters (6’-4.75”). If Lamb would have matched his season high of 2.08-meters, he would of finished in the top three. Competing unattached, William Moses along with Iowa Central Community College freshman, Marquis Mack posted the top heights at 2.10-meters (6’-10.75”).

Junior Andrea Swanson was the only Bulldog on the women’s side to compete over the weekend. The Littleton, Colo. native finished the day in 18th place in the women’s shot put with a distance of 13.03-meters (42’-9”). The mark is her third best of the season. University of Nebraska junior Amanda Latsch won the event with a throw of 14.88-meters (48’-10”).

In the men’s 4x100-meter relay, Ginickachi Ibe, Antowine Lamb, Leterius Ray and David Parry took to the track for McPherson. The team finished in 22nd place, but posted the Bulldogs second fastest time of the season at 43.86. The top team once again came from the University of Nebraska. The Huskers finished the race in 41.03.

The Bulldogs return to the track next Saturday, April 24, for the Bethel Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. in North Newton. The invite will be the last meet for McPherson prior to the KCAC conference meet hosted by Ottawa University.
