McPherson, Kan. – McPherson running back Aaron Lafitte has been named to College Fanz Sports Network’s preseason Super 72 watch list as he is considered one of the nine best running backs in the NAIA.

“Aaron made an instant impact at the running back position for us last season,” says McPherson head coach Joe Bettasso. “He is extremely versatile whether it is with the ball in his hands or in pass protection.  This is a great honor for him, and we hope that he can continue to build on his success from last year.”

An honorable mention All-American following the 2009 season, Lafitte put his name in the McPherson record books following an impressive season. The Ironwood, Ariz., native was a first team All-KCAC selection by the league’s coaches as he 1,030 yards rushing and a McPherson College record 140 points on 23 touchdowns and one point after.

Along with season records in points and touchdowns, Lafitte tied the school’s single game record for touchdowns in a game with four against, a feat that he accomplished twice during the 2009 season.

Lafitte’s honor marks the second Bulldog to make an appearance on the Super 72 watch list. 2009 senior, Jeff Paulsen was the other.
