McPherson, Kan. – For the second consecutive year, seniors
David Parry (Morganville, Kan.) and
Josh Nilles (Goddard, Kan.) represent the McPherson College cross country team on the 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Men’s Cross Country Scholar-Athletes team, announced Friday by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
This season, the NAIA recognized 159 men’s cross country student-athletes with the annual honor.
To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status. Additionally, nominations must be submitted by the institutions head coach or sports information director.
Parry, an automotive restoration major from Morganville, Kan., concluded the season as the Bulldogs top runner with a team-best 20
th place finish at the KCAC Championships on Nov. 5. Parry crossed the 8k course in a time of 28:25.23.
Nilles, much like Parry, is an automotive restoration major from Goddard, Kan. Nilles was the third Bulldog finisher at the conference championship with a time of 31:06.33, which was good for 53
rd place.
As a team, the Bulldogs finished the season with a seventh place finish at the KCAC Championships.
