McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College cross country and track and field teams combined efforts with the McPherson Food Bank in the organization’s Trick or Can event Sunday, Oct. 30. Thirteen members of the two squads and the coaching staff participated.
 
The event, which is similar to Halloween’s normal trick or treating, if one where individuals who participate go door to door collecting canned foods or monetary donations. The McPherson group collected nearly 500 pounds of food and $100 in donations that will be given directly to the McPherson Food Bank.
 
Head coach Cameron Magnall said the event provided the group an opportunity to be active in the community and help those in need.
 
“Trick or Can was a wonderful experience for our team,” said Magnall. “We had the opportunity to bond as a squad, while helping others in the process. Additionally, I think the group had fun, which makes it a win-win for both parties.”
