McPherson, Kan. – McPherson College tennis coach Jeff Benito has announced that Mark Mahan of Fullerton, Calif. has signed a letter of intent to join the Bulldog tennis program. Mahan is a semester transfer and will join the team for the 2012 spring season.
 
Mahan is transferring from Cypress College where he was a 2011 all-conference selection and ranked as high as 14^th in doubles and 31^st in singles amongst junior college student-athletes in the state of California.  
 
Prior to Cypress, Mahan played at Sunny Hills High School under the direction of coach Tom Penner. He served primarily as the squad’s No. 1 player and earned all-league honors. Additionally, Mahan was a member of the SHHS Honor Society.
 
Mahan is the son of Mark and Wendie Mahan. He plans to major in history while at McPherson College.
