Three Bulldogs saw action on day two of the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on Friday in Marion, Ind. Senior high jumper Antowine Lamb (Topeka, Kan.) highlighted the day for McPherson with his second consecutive top six finish to earn All-American honors.

Lamb opened the event with first attempt clearances at 2.00m (6’-6.75”) and 2.05m (6’-8.75”) before failing to clear the bar at 2.10m (6’-10.75”) to put him in a tie for fourth with Scott Gill of Taylor University (Ind.) and Erving Warren of Siena Heights University (Mich.).

Staphon Arnold of Azusa Pacific (Calif.) won the event with a first attempt clearance at 2.10m and 2.05m, which propelled him over Ben Zuch (Midland Lutheran College (Neb.)) and Matt Huseman (Northwestern (Iowa)).

Junior Derrick Toney (Salinas, Calif.) finished tied for 16th with a jump of 2.00m (6’-6.75”).

On the track, junior David Parry (Morganville, Kan.)set a personal record with a time 1:52.24 in the semifinal round of the 800m. Despite the mark, Parry finished 11th overall and failed to reach the finals. Josiah Luttjeboer of Dodt College (Iowa) finished with the top time 1:51.40.

McPherson returns to action tomorrow starting at 1 p.m. when senior Mitchell Krier competes in the pole vault. Junior Daniel Sorenson competes for the 3,000m Steeplechase championship at 2:20 p.m.
