Bulldog Receiving Duo Named 2011 “D2 vs. NAIA Senior Bowl” Preseason All-Americans

McPherson, Kan. – McPherson senior wide receivers Andy Skinner (Montezuma, Kan.) and Joe Middleton (Phoenix, Ariz.) were named to another preseason All-American team on Tuesday, as the duo was selected by the Collegiate Development Football League (CDFL) and the D2vsNAIA Senior Bowl selection committee as members of the NAIA 2011 Preseason All-American Team. Skinner earned first team honors, while Middleton was named to the honorable mention team.

The “D2vsNAIA Senior Bowl” is a post season all-star game showcasing the talent of senior players from the NCAA D2 Division and the NAIA Football levels. The Bowl game is presented by the Collegiate Development Football League and will be held on Dec. 3, 2011 in New York, N.Y.

Skinner led the 2010 Bulldogs with 1,378 all purpose yards, including 1,192 yards receiving. He set program career records for yards receiving (2,461 yards) and touchdown receptions (27). Skinner finished his junior season with six 100-yard receiving games, including a career-high 268 yards against Friends University. His performance against the Falcons earned him NAIA National Player of the Week Honors. He was previously named to the Victory Sports Network Super 72 Team.

Middleton paced all Bulldog receivers a season ago with 73 receptions, 1,220 yards and 15 touchdowns. He posted seven games of at least 100 yards receiving, while scoring a touchdown in all but two games. Middleton set a career-high with 154 yards receiving, including four touchdowns, on Oct. 23 against Southwestern College. He was previously named to the Sport News NAIA Preseason All-American team.

Skinner, Middleton and the rest of the Bulldogs open the 2011 campaign against No. 11 Missouri Valley College on Sept. 3. Kickoff against the Vikings is scheduled for 6 p.m. CST in Marshall, Mo.
