Derrick Toney (Salinas, Calif.) was honored by the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference on Tuesday after being selected as the KCAC Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. The accolade marks the first weekly conference honor for Toney.
Toney received the award after placing second in the high jump with an NAIA national qualifying ‘B’ standard mark of 2.00m (6’-6.75”) at the Highland Open last Saturday. Toney’s jump currently ranks a first in the KCAC and tied for fifth in the NAIA.
The Bulldogs return to the track on Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Nebraska Wesleyan Open in Lincoln, Neb.
