Hutchinson, Kan. – 15 top-five finishes highlight the Bulldogs as they competed at the Hutch Night Relays in Hutchinson, Kan., on Saturday, April 7. The meet was run by Hutchinson Community College and included five four-year schools and four Junior Colleges.
The McPherson men were led by a 2.10m (6’ 10.75”) leap by Derrick Toney in High Jump, coming within a quarter of an inch of his Personal Record as well as the McPherson College School Record. Seven other personal bests were recorded by the Bulldogs in the meet.
The Lady Bulldogs were highlighted by a second-place finish by Ashley Huizar in the 3000m Steeplechase, setting a season best. Callie McCaffrey, Aspen Frey and Ashley Martinez each had season best performances on Saturday as well. Megan Pohlmann grabbed a Personal Record in Javelin with her heave of 25.63m (84’ 1”).
McPherson track and field’s next competition will be at the Kansas Relays which is set to begin on April 19th in Lawrence, Kan.
