2011 McPherson College graduate Ginikachi "Gini" Ibe was recently announced as the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) 2012  Defensive Rookie of the Year.  Ibe joined the Knoxville Nighthawks as a defensive back mid-way through the 2012 season.

Ginikachi Ibe (5’9 181, McPherson College) finished the season with 11 interceptions, tops in the PIFL.  Along with being the lone member of the expansion Nighthawks on the All-PIFL 1st Team, Ibe posted a league-high three games with two or more interceptions concluding his rookie campaign second on the team in tackles (40)
