Mac Athletics Cancer Awareness Day set for October 26th

McPherson, Kan. – The athletics department at McPherson College will be having their cancer awareness day on October 26th; the goal of this event is to raise awareness and funds for the Giving Hope Fund which was established by Home State Bank through the McPherson County Community Foundation to help cancer patients in McPherson County.

Things kick off on the 25th at the baseball team's Field of Screams game which is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. (CT) at Light Capital Diamonds on Avenue A in McPherson; donations will be accepted throughout the event.

On the 26th, the spirit squad and women's soccer team will be selling t-shirts at the football game (1:30 p.m.) and women's soccer game (6:30 p.m.).  Additionally the cheer squad will give away bracelets sponsored by SGA and SBA and the spirit squad.  Also, the women's basketball team will be painting faces and fingernails during the football game.

There will be a balloon release following the women's soccer game.

The MC athletic department is donating 25% of the gate revenue for all events to the Giving Hope Fund and donations will be accepted all through the day at the football, soccer and alumni basketball games.

All teams plan on wearing some form of pink for their contests.

Football's game vs. Tabor College – Oct. 26 at 1:30 p.m.
Men's Soccer game vs. Sterling College – Oct. 26 at 4:00 p.m.
Women's Soccer game vs. Sterling College – Oct. 26 at 6:30 p.m.
Basketball Alumni games vs. MC Alumni – Oct. 26 at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.
