McPherson, Kan. – The student-athletes that make up the athletic programs at McPherson College took a big step forward with their Grade Point Average this school year; between the 15 teams at MC, the GPA came in at 2.93 which is a significant increase from last year when the department boasted a 2.78.

Eight different teams had a GPA above 3.0, granting them NAIA Scholar Team Awards; last year there were seven squads on the list.  Women’s cross-country, women’s track & field, men’s tennis, volleyball, women’s tennis, women’s basketball, softball and women’s soccer are the MC teams that qualified.

Leading the way for Mac was the women’s cross country team and on the other side of the coin, tennis led the men’s programs.
