Box Score McPherson, Kan. – McPherson College now owns a 3-0 advantage on Central Christian College for the 2014-15 school year courtesy of the Lady Bulldog soccer squad taking down the Tigers 4-1 on Wednesday.
"Tonight we played a good game on both sides of the ball," said Coach Talley. "We were able to clear our bench in the second half and give other players some good minutes. Although there are still some things we need to fine tune, we're pleased overall with how our team is looking at this point in the season."
It was a four-goal first half route for the Lady 'Dogs as they took a 4-0 lead into the break. Rhea Vale scored nine minutes into the game and just a few seconds later, Alia Khalidi put another one in for Mac to give them a quick 2-0 advantage. Cydney Lewis and Rebekah Gallegos-Romero each scored before the end of the first period, allowing McPherson to coast the rest of the way. Central put their lone point up on the board with less than five minutes to play.
The Bulldogs held Central to one shot in the opening period, the Tigers ended the night with just six attempts at goal. Mac on the other hand, took an impressive 22 shots and placed 12 on frame. All but six players that touched the field for the Lady 'Dogs, excluding the goalies, took a shot in McPherson's win. Lewis took a team-high three shots and saw all three go on target.
Recording her second win of the season was Caitlyn Blagrave who went the full 90 minutes in goal for MC; she tallied two saves and one goal allowed.
