McPherson College is preparing to start new construction projects around its athletic facilities even as it prepares to lay new turf at McPherson Stadium. Doug Quint, athletic director at McPherson College, said the school plans to start building new practice fields east of McPherson Stadium in March. Quint said the project is a much-needed step toward reducing the demand of both college and high school teams to use the stadium.

Orange Beach, Ala. – The McPherson College men’s soccer program landed two student-athletes on the 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Men’s Soccer Scholar-Athlete Team, as senior Tyler Tank and junior Andrew Suits were named to the squad. Suits receives the NAIA’s highest academic honor for the first time in his career, while Tank earns the honor for the second straight season.

McPherson, Kan. – McPherson College men’s soccer player Tyler Tank was voted to the Capital One Academic All-American first team for the College Division, announced earlier today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Tank, who is the first McPherson College athlete to earn this award, was among 11 student-athletes named to the Academic All-American first team.
