McPherson, Kan. – With November being Pancreatic Awareness Month, the McPherson College basketball teams in conjunction with Central Christian College are playing a “Unite for a Cure” basketball game on Tuesday, Nov. 15. The event is meant to honor and bring awareness to individuals and families that have been affected by pancreatic cancer and will tipoff starting with the women’s game at 6 p.m. (CT).
“This is a great opportunity for the two colleges in this community to unite for a cause, especially since blue and red make purple,” said McPherson College head cheerleading coach Josh Taylor. “We hope the McPherson community will not only come out and support the two teams, but also the cause.”
A free will donation and information regarding the disease will be available at the front door and during the contest with proceeds going to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
In honor of the individuals affected, the women will be wearing purple headbands, while the men will be sporting purple shoelaces. In addition, the two teams are asking fans to wear purple in support of the cause.
McPherson College and Central Christian would like to thank individuals in advance for their participation in the event.
