McPherson, Kan. – McPherson College men’s basketball head coach Tim Swartzendruber has been named KBCA "College Men's Coach of the Year" for the 2011-12 season. Coach Swartzendruber will be honored at a banquet on August 2nd.
Swartzendruber is 88-41 since taking over the MC men’s basketball program in 2008. He has gone to the NAIA Division II National Basketball tournament the past three years with his best finish coming this past season when the Bulldogs made it to the Final Four.
The 2011-12 men’s basketball team finished the season 33-4, breaking the previous record for single season wins by 12. The team broke 18 other records this season including most points scored (2879), free-throws made (688) and rebounds (1561).
